Description

Warminster. Is a place of great antiquity, and at the Norman Conquest belonged to the Crown, the tenant holding it on the condition that one night's lodging be supplied to the King and his suite, whenever he wished. Charles II visited Longleat in 1663, and George III with his Queen and the Princesses have also been entertained by the lord of the Manor of Warminster at Longleat.
