This is the transcript of a lecture given by Elliott Forsyth for the University of the Third Age, Deepdene, Victoria, Australia, on 23 February 2010. It is an account of his three-week study leave visit to Ethiopia in 1959 and describes the country as ruled by Emperor Haile Selassie.
