"The decision to bring this exhibition to Melbourne follows multiple requests from Victorians visiting Hobart The Sidewalk Gallery collection of Artefacts from Africa and Tribal Jewellery is probably the largest in Australia.
Individually selected from an enormous geographical area and many different cultures the collection includes rare collectors' pieces through to more recent traditional crafts. Some artefacts were collected from villages where they are still used as every day items as protective and ceremonial figures, while others were found in the ground, where villagers were digging and hoeing their crops, and may be hundreds of years old." - page 3
