Agatha's husband : a novel

Title

Agatha's husband : a novel

Date

Description

Originally published as a three-volume novel, this yellow-back was the seventh edition of Dinah Craik's Agatha's Husband. The cover and title page attribute the book to "the author of John Halifax, Gentleman," which was Craik's best-known novel.

Yellow-backs were published in Britain in the late-nineteenth century and were cheap volumes aimed at a popular audience.

The final pages of this volume reprint an article, "The Works of Charles Lever," that had originally appeared in Blackwood's Magazine (April 1892), as an extended advertisement for the "Railway Editions" (yellow-backs) of Lever's books.
